Head Coach Robert Suchorski
Robert Suchorski was a highly regarded coach at the D.C. Fencers Club in Washington, D.C., for more than 20 years. His successful students have included multiple national and international medalists, as well as NCAA All-Americans. A number of them have earned medals at World Cup events and have been members of U.S. teams at international events.

Robert also has extensive national and international competitive experience, in particular as an epee fencer. While a student of the Polish Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, he was a Polish National Junior Epee Champion. As a member of the Polish national team, Robert also competed at the World Championships, Military World Championships and multiple World Cup competitions. He has trained with legendary Polish fencing master Zbigniew Czajkowski, as well as the best Polish and Russian fencing masters.

Coach Bruce Milligan

Bruce Milligan began his coaching career at Huntington High School in New York, where he inherited a team that had been winless for five years, and which won its conference championship under his tutelage, in his third year as head coach. He was the head coach at Vassar College, where he started that school's NCAA varsity program, for seven years. Bruce was voted Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association Coach of the Year, in his final year at Vassar.

Bruce served as a a coach at the former Baltimore Fencing Center from its inception in 2000 until 2019, when the club closed due to COVID restrictions.

Bruce has also been a competitive fencer for his entire adult life. He has won two U.S. Veterans (40+ and 60+) National Championships in foil, as well as numerous other national and regional medals in foil and epee. He was also twice a member of the U.S. Veterans Team, in the 2002 and 2006 World Championships, where he placed 14th and 16th respectively.

Bruce is a co-owner of the Savage Fencing Club, which he and his wife Lauren founded in 2022.

Coach and Director of Operations Lauren Milligan

Lauren Milligan began fencing as an undergraduate at Haverford College. After a 15-year hiatus in which she devoted herself to being a parent, Lauren returned to fencing, where she routinely places in the top eight in national Women’s Veteran Foil and Epee tournaments in foil and epee. Lauren also fences saber.

Lauren was previously an assistant coach at the Baltimore Fencing Center for the past several years. Her particular interest is in helping young women to discover the joys and benefits of our sport.

Lauren is also a co-owner of the Savage Fencing Club, and with her husband Bruce, was a co-founded of the club in 2022.

Assistant Coach Will Snyder

Will Snyder began fencing at age 16, and walked on to the Johns Hopkins University varsity fencing team. As a sophomore at JHU, he placed first in the Division II Summer National Championships. In his senior year, Will was Men’s Epee Team Captain at Johns Hopkins. He graduated in 2019 and is ranked 12th in Epee for all-time career wins at JHU.

Will started coaching in 2020 at the Guanyi Fencing Academy. His passion is coaching youth fencers, and he has had students rank in the top 25 nationally for their age group, as well as having had several ranked in the top eight regionally for Y14, Y12, and Y10.

Assistant Coach Greg Paye

Greg Paye has been fencing for over 40 years. In 2001 he won first place at the Mid-Atlantic Men's Epee Championship, and today he occasionally competes in national Veteran (age 40+) competitions.

He is certified Prévôt d'Epee with the U.S. Fencing Coaches' Association, and has completed advanced coaching training with Polish Fencing Masters Zbigniew Czajkowski and Janusz Smolenski. Greg's professional experience includes being a coach at the D.C. Fencers' Club, the McDonogh School, Johns Hopkins University, Boston University, Boston Fencing Club, and Goucher College.

Assistant Coach Mark Meudt

Mark Meudt, a competitive fencer, coach, and official of regional and national acclaim, has over 50 years of experience on the piste. He was an NCAA All-American foil fencer and ACC foil champion, originally from Maryland and Washington, D.C. Earlier in his fencing career, Mark earned his USFA "A" ratings in both foil and epee. He has achieved national recognition, competing and coaching throughout the East Coast and Midwest. Reared in the blended traditional European and Russian-influenced maestro coaching styles, Mark has integrated modern, competitive, strategic, and tactical elements into his game, both as a foil coach and competitor.

Administrator Carol Adams
Carol Adams has extensive experience in the operations of a successful fencing club, having served as the Director of Operations for the former Baltimore Fencing Center for many years, as well as being a management consultant for both the Timonium and Columbia branches of that club. Carol also is a consultant for other USA Fencing member clubs.

Carol is a past USA Fencing Region 3 Representative; a coordinator and promoter of local and regional USA Fencing sanctioned fencing tournaments, and a local bout Committee Chair and Referee Assigner. She also is part of the USA Fencing awards cadre for North American Cup and National Awards ceremonies. Her introduction to the sport of fencing was as a fencing parent.
